Southwest Garden Neighborhood Association, St. Louis MO

What’s new in the SouthWest Garden Neighborhood?

One can tell spring is in the air when daffodils and tulips are blooming, and storms bring threats of tornado’s!  This week’s announcements will be short and sweet; so, here I go~

It is exciting to report that there are three new businesses in the neighborhood!

revive thrift

(1)  REVIVE thrift shop has opened at 2202 Vandeventer.  it is a nonprofit thrift shop providing high quality, affordable shopping experience that supports Mission:  St. Louis.

Revive thrift has the look and feel of a boutique shop in the heart of Chicago, but it’s right here on our “door step!”  They gladly accept donations,   do call Jennifer @ 314-776-7520 for details.  Don’t forget to check out the April specials.  Their website is: http:// www revivethrift.org  You may also contact them by email at:  contact@revivethrift.org.  Happy Shopping-

three flags tavern

(2) THREE FLAGS TAVERN  located at 4940 Southwest Avenue has opened their doors.  The cuisine is a mix of French and American.  John and Kathie, the owners are warm and welcoming!  My personal suggestion is the rabbit sausage with spicy sweet mustard and black bread.  Hmm good!

park ave coffee

(3)  PARK AVENUE COFFEE  located at Columbia and Hereford is due to open this week.  Yippee!  I can’t wait to taste their gooey butter cake after I have had a healthy smoothie.  LOL!!  The delay has centered around those final inspections.  However, I have seen neighbors stopping by to speak with Dale and Talan, the owners.   I’ll be looking for  you, too.

These three businesses did an outstanding job among other businesses in our neighborhood in providing certificates for the 2nd Annual Trivia Night.  (More about that later)  Let’s be a good neighbor and stop in and welcome them to our neighborhood!    Patronizing local business helps all of us!

Mark your calendar for:

Raw Foods Potluck and movie night on April 27, 2014. I will have more details in next week.  Questions, call Jane at 314-534-4990.

Quarterly SWGNA membership meeting at the St. Louis Activity Center on Monday, April 28th.  7:00 p.m.

Until next week stay safe and stay dry.
