It is absolutely great to see so many flower gardens that are just beginning to bloom! Thankfully Mother Nature has been so cooperative in sending us mild temperatures and plenty of rain.

Sunday, June 14th, 9:00 am to 4 p.m. The St. Louis Jaycees Soap Box Derby will be held at the Shaw School. There will be raffles, food trucks,and Taste of the Hill. All proceeds will benefit the St. Ambrose Athletic Association. Don’t forget to attend the Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show sponsored by and !
After enjoying an afternoon of soapbox derby head down the street to Sandrina’s Restaurant 7th Annual HullaBaLuau. Trish Erwin, owner of the Sandrina’s promises to make this event the best yet. There will be live music, pig roast, BBQ, vegetarian fare, 50/50 raffle, auction, dunking booth, indie crafts and adoptable pets. This event starts at 12:00 pm and goes to 9:00 pm. Sandrina’s restaurant is located at 5098 Arsenal Street.
Whittaker Music Festival at the Missouri Botanical Gardens: Pack a picnic basket, bring the kids and blankets and enjoy music under the stars. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, 6/10 i features Nikki Hill and Wednesday, 6/17 features Joe Mancuso. I promise there is no better way to enjoy summertime in St. Louis.
Jungle Boogie at The St. Louis Zoo: Love music? Free on Friday evenings is music at the St. Louis Zoo starting at 5:00 pm. Coming June 12th, is “Ticket to the Beatles.” coming on June 26th is ” Whiskey Morning.”
Do your part …. Start today: It has come to my attention that some residents and property owners are not placing bulky items at their curb for bulky pick up. Instead some are IMPROPERLY placing bulky items on the street median. Placing items in the is considered ILLEGAL DUMPING!!!~! For proper curbside collection, please place your bulky items at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the Monday of your collection week. If you witness ILLEGAL DUMPING in the median, please help us by getting a full description of the persons/vehicles and call non-emergency 231-1212. Follow up with a call/email to the Citizens Service Bureau at 314-622-4800 or stlouis-mo.gov. The CSB will forward your complaint to the Environmental Investigation Unit.
