We Would Love to See You at our Pub Crawl this coming Saturday!

Dear Neighbors,

You are cordially invited to join the Southwest Garden Neighborhood Association for a mini fund raiser this Saturday June 10th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  It is a wonderful opportunity to mingle with friends and neighbors all while raising some “dough” for the Neighborhood Association.

The event is from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and it begins at the home of Mary Ann Owens.  She is located at 5539 Southwest Avenue.  Purchase your wrist band for $10.00.  Proceed out for dinner either at Amigo Joe’s restaurant or Lou C’s Bar & Grill.  Next proceed onward to Jimmy Mack’s or Hideaway Lounge.   You can attend one or attend all. Don’t forget to show your wrist band for drink specials along the way!  Return back to Mary Ann’s for an old fashion campfire  complete with beverages (beer & wine of course), hot dogs and s’mores. ( Your $10.00 include snacks and beverages at Mary Ann’s home. )  A RSVP is not required but would be helpful, so we know how much food to buy.  To RSVP simply email me at: [email protected]

Looking forward to be seeing you!

Recently at the second quarter general membership meeting   Michael Campisi and Christopher Reynhout , owners, spoke about their new business in our neighborhood, ON THE HILL HEALTH MART PHARMACY.  They are really excited about the home town look and feel within their store. Reminds me of days gone by.  I want to personally applaud for their excellent presentation and more so for their efforts to encourage proper disposal of opioid medications.    I don’t know about you, but I have wanted to dispose of old medications for a long while now, but did not know how to do it.  Michael and Christopher in partnership with the St. Louis College of Pharmacy have special packets available free for the asking to properly dispose unwanted, unused or expired medication.  Please feel free to stop by and ask, if you too, want to get rid of old medication, but don’t want it to end up in the wrong hands!

The meeting will be held at the St. Louis Activity Center located at 5602 Arsenal Street and will begin at 7:00 pm.  Due to the success of this event last year, we plan to host our second annual seedling and plant exchange.   Instead of throwing away your extra plantings and seedlings in the yard waste dumpsters, bring them to the general membership meeting to share with others.  Just think, you can walk away with new seedlings and plants without spending a dime! In consideration of your neighbors, please package them in way that is easy to transport.  It’s going to be interesting to see what individuals bring.

Also,  elections of Board members will be held and of course our Aldermen reports. We are also pleased to announce that business owners, Chris and Michael of “On the Hill Health Mart Pharmacy”   will make a short and informal presentation of their plans to be meet the needs of the local community.    Let’s give them a warm welcome.     Click the link for the latest edition of the Communicator April
